This song was originally the Peruvian anthem. Simon and Garfunkel adapted it and added English lyrics. We may compare the two versions in these videos. There are examples of "I'd rather" and second conditionals. In the exercise we are asked to fill in the gaps. We can read the full transcript and some notes.
